DriveRecall

You remember the file, but not which external drive you put it on.

DriveRecall lets you search a saved catalog of your external drives even while those drives are unplugged.

Offline Drive Search for Windows

External hard drives and a USB drive beneath a glowing search symbol

Three simple steps

How it works

Catalog a drive

Connect an external HDD, SSD, or USB drive and create a DriveRecall catalog.

Disconnect it

DriveRecall keeps the saved catalog locally on your Windows PC.

Search later

Search by filename to see which cataloged drive and saved folder contain the result. Reconnect the drive when you need the actual file.

Made for real drive collections

Find the drive. Find the folder.

DriveRecall stays focused on one job: helping you locate files across cataloged external storage.

  • Search saved catalogs while drives are disconnected
  • See the cataloged drive and original folder for matching filenames
  • Catalog external HDDs, SSDs, and USB drives
  • Use friendly drive names
  • Update catalogs after files change
  • Open files and folders when the drive is connected
  • Catalogs stored locally on your PC
  • No DriveRecall account or subscription

An important distinction

What does “offline search” mean?

Offline search means searching DriveRecall’s previously saved catalog while the drive is disconnected. DriveRecall does not access files on an unplugged drive; reconnect the drive to open the actual file.

Compatibility

System requirements

DriveRecall is designed for Windows 11 x64 PCs and for use with external HDDs, external SSDs, and USB drives. Compatibility can vary by device and storage configuration.
